Did you know that we offer so much more than an extensive selection of wine and artisanal cheese? Besides being voted one of the top wine bars in the U.S. by Gayot, each week, Chef Cidney and her team of culinary experts transport diners around the globe through a variety of world class dining experiences. From group dining and multi-course wine pairing menus to intimate chef’s table and winemaker dinners, all featuring Chef Cid’s global cuisine with a touch of Southern hospitality and Spanish flare, you’re guaranteed to find a little something for everyone. You can order house favorites like cheesy Chorizo Fondue and crispy Pork Belly Tacos from the regular menu or register for one of the many global wine tasting classes for a taste of cultural cuisine paired with regional wine.
Not Your Average Wine Tasting
In addition to the three-course wine dinner and weeknight menu, Chef Cid and her team are constantly hard at work whipping up masterpiece creations for our Atlanta Wine School students. Last week, Chef Cid wowed attendees at the South Africa wine and food tasting with her authentic homemade Bobotie and baked Malva pudding, both of which paired excellently with the regional wines being tasted. And in a recent Intro to Wine, Level II class, Chef Cid’s wildly popular truffled Mushroom Flatbread floated into the room just in time for students to taste it alongside commune-level red Burgundies from Gevrey-Chambertin and Pommard. Talk about a food and wine match made in heaven! And the global culinary delights don’t end there. At least once a month, food and wine enthusiasts looking for a personalized dining experience can join us at one of our Winemaker dinners or Chef’s Table for a front row seat of the action in our private event room and state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen.
Class is in Session
We believe that culinary talent should be shared. Those looking for a more hands-on learning experience can sign up for one of our many Global cooking series offerings. Our internationally themed classes provide you with the opportunity to learn hands-on culinary techniques from a professional Chef while sipping on regional wines poured by our knowledgeable Sommeliers. We offer beginner and intermediate level classes for those looking to learn the secrets of the trade or brush up on existing skills. After diving into the kitchen, students get to sit back and enjoy their freshly created meal and learn about wine pairing basics from our Sommelier. You not only leave class with some newly acquired skills and recipes, but you’ll pick up a few handy entertaining and wine tips too!
Throwdown in Flavortown
The Chef is out of the bag! It’s hard to keep a neighborhood dining gem a secret for long, but you don’t have to take our word for it. VV was recently featured as an international wine and dining destination in both Where Atlanta and Atlanta Magazine. And on Sunday, May 3rd at 8:00pm, you can join viewers around the country as we watch Guy Thiery on Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games” where our very own Chef Cid will compete for $20,000. We’re hosting a viewing party starting at 7:30 pm complete with a Taco Bar and flowing libations. If you can’t join us for the fun on Sunday, check out our monthly event calendar for a chance to get your own taste of the action. We invite you to stop in anytime for a glass of wine or stay for an unforgettable food and wine experience, but one thing is for sure, you’ll be back for more!
