While we encourage you to join in on the fun, all activities are optional, allowing you to tailor the trip to your preferences. Whether you choose to partake in every moment or carve out time for yourself, this journey is designed to suit your needs.
We’ve made your arrival and departure seamless. Fly into Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), the primary gateway to Portugal and well-connected with major international cities.Transportation from the airport to the Douro Valley and back to Lisbon is included as part of the trip.
Changes to the itinerary may occur. In the event any experience listed should change due to matters beyond our control, it will be replaced with a similar quality experience.
Meet in Lisbon, Portugal
Day 1
Meet at 10:30am at Lisbon Airport for private transport to the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Enjoy a picnic lunch and wine tasting at Quinta de Chocapalha, where traditional and modern winemaking converge.
Check into your charming accommodations, a serene retreat nestled in the Douro Valley. Spend the afternoon unpacking, strolling the grounds, or simply relaxing.
Gather for a welcome reception on the patio (weather permitting), followed by a sumptuous dinner...

Day 2
The morning is yours to enjoy— perhaps a walk through the vineyards or coffee on the terrace.
Head to Quinta Portal, where you’ll savor lunch on a scenic terrace, learn about the estate’s history and taste their acclaimed wines.
Visit Wine and Soul, a family-run boutique winery.
Spend the late afternoon relaxing back at your hotel.
Dinner at Castas e Pratos will feature an array of local specialties in a charming setting.
Exploring the Douro Valley
Day 3
Enjoy breakfast before departing for Quinta do Bonfim, owned by the Symington family, who have been making wine in the Douro for over 130 years.
Lunch will be at Quinta do Panascal, an enchanting estate known for its white Port and stunning riverside views.
Return to your accommodations for a relaxing break. Then join a cooking class where a local chef will guide you through preparing traditional Portuguese dishes.
Oporto
Day 4
After an early breakfast, travel to Oporto, Portugal’s second-largest city.
At Graham’s 1890 Lodge, we will enjoy a wine-paired lunch at their fine-dining restaurant, Vinum, with panoramic views.
Visit Cockburn’s Port House, home to the largest wooden Port cellar in Vila Nova de Gaia. Witness traditional barrel-making in action.
Cross the river into Oporto for free time.
End the day with a walking food tour sampling petiscos (Portuguese tapas) before returning to your accommodations.
Last day in the Douro!
Day 5
Begin your final day in the Douro with a scenic ride on an historic train.
Take a relaxing river cruise, soaking in the breathtaking landscapes.
Disembark in Pinhão, where you’ll have free time to explore and enjoy lunch on your own.
Spend the evening at Quinta de Tourais, where owner Manuela will treat you to a delicious dinner featuring her signature recipes. It’s a perfect farewell to the Douro.
Off To Lisbon
Day 6
After breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and depart for Quinta da Casa Amarela, where the charming owners will guide you through their estate. Enjoy a leisurely lunch paired with wines crafted from old vines.
Travel to Lisbon and check into your boutique hotel in the city center. Take the evening to explore on your own; the hotel staff will provide dining recommendations tailored to your preferences.
Lisboa
Day 7
Explore Lisbon’s Belem district in tuk-tuks. Visit iconic landmarks like Jeronimo’s Monastery and enjoy a picnic lunch sampling wines from Lisbon and Alentejo regions.
Tour a local tile maker to learn about the art of azulejos, Portugal’s traditional ceramic tiles.
Take time to shop or explore Lisbon’s bustling TimeOut Market.
Cap off your trip with a spectacular farewell dinner, celebrating the flavors and friendships made during your journey.
Head home or extend your stay
Day 8
Transportation to Lisbon’s airport is included this morning only. We should arrive at the airport by 8:00am. If you prefer to leave later, the hotel can help you book your transportation.
