Learning about wines has never been more flexible. Enjoy the ability to work around your existing schedule through enrollment in our 5 week WSET Level 2 Online study program.
Through a supported and interactive Online Classroom, the Level 2 Award in Wines online course covers the same syllabus as the classroom course while allowing you to study alongside your peers under the guidance of a dedicated educator.
This course follows a 5-week study program including live webinars and instructor support with set start and finish dates along with a 50 multiple choice examination which must be completed in person at Atlanta Wine School.
Each week consists of a series of instructor-guided online activities and group discussions. A timed feedback test is provided at the end of each week for students to practice for the exam and assess their understanding of that week’s topics. Group tasting activities are also provided to familiarize students with the Systematic Approach to Tasting at Intermediate level.

For Industry Personnel and Consumer Wine Lovers, our online classroom includes a structured and informative program that provides vocational training in the broad range of wine and spirits to underpin job skills and competencies in the customer service and sales functions of the hospitality, retail, restaurant and wholesale industries.
This certification is both valuable for the consumer wishing to gain a broader understanding of wine and spirits, as well as learn how to taste and assess wines professionally; and for those working in the industry desiring to obtain an intermediate level professional certification from a trusted internationally recognized organization.
The online classroom includes a guided tasting of wines utilizing the WSET systematic approach to tasting wine that enables students to access wines in a structured manner. In addition, students will receive study pointers for the Level 2 WSET exam. Throughout this interactive course, you will be asked to share your learning experience with the rest of the course group, looking at what wine labels tell you about the contents of the bottle and exchange tasting notes. Tasting is an essential part of studying for this course, and you will need to taste a minimum of 8 wines which are not provided although guidance will be provided on the styles to taste.
There is no pre-requisite to take this program however successful completion of the Level 1 Award in Wines is recommended. Advanced preparation is required prior to the start of the course.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the factors that influence wine style and price.
Know the characteristics of the principal grape varieties used in wine production.
Know how to use the labeling terms on a bottle to deduce the style and flavor of still wines produced in the key wine producing countries of the world.
Know how to use the labelling terms on a bottle to deduce the style, flavor and method of production of sparkling wines produced in the key wine producing countries of the world.
Know how to use the labelling terms on a bottle to deduce the style, flavor and production method of sweet and fortified wines produced in the key wine producing countries of the world.
Be able to provide information and advice to customers and staff about wines and spirits.
Be able to produce analytical tasting notes of wines using industry recognized tasting terms.
The Exam:
To give students an idea of the sort of questions which might be asked, here are two examples. The examination consists of 50 questions similar to these, to be completed in a maximum of 60 minutes.

Exam updates will be communicated via email. Please note there is a $100 cancellation fee after exams have been ordered. Exams will be held at the Atlanta Wine School/Vino Venue location in Atlanta, GA at: 4478 Chamblee Dunwoody, Road, 30338.
NOTE: We are unable to make exceptions for course registration deadlines. Registration closes 12 days before each course start date.
