4 and 6 bottle levels $22 (member price $19)
100% Tempranillo 14.0% ABV
Pradorey (field of the king) is in the Royal Site of Ventosilla, a 7500 acre estate bought by Isabella the Catholic Monarch in 1503, on the eastern side of Ribera del Duero. Historic royalty abounds at the estate including their inn, which was built in 1603 as a hunting lodge for King Philip III. Their flagship wines are serious, and meant for long aging. On the other hand, there is Sr. Niño. The fruit comes from La Recorba Vineyard, on the steep foothills of the Los Cerrados Mountains, with southern and western exposures for maximum heat in the afternoons of the growing season. It’s a medium-bodied wine, featuring carbonic maceration, aging in earthenware jars, and meant for early consumption. Aromatic for a red, it has notes of baked black raspberry, boysenberry, red cherry, anise, balsamic. HOLIDAY DINNER
