Over the last two decades, Yarra Valley has become known as the home of high qualilty Aussie Pinot Noir.  The climate is cooler than other Down Under wine regions, being against the snowy Great Dividing Range, with volcanic subsoil under ancient infertile soil.  It’s also just ENE of the suburbs of Melbourne, making it a quick getaway from Australia’s 2^nd largest city, and exploding the popularity of the region.  Nine months in French oak barrels (10% new).  Red cherry, blueberry, boysenberry, dried spices.  The tannins are soft & silky.

This smooth wine is guaranteed to be the life of the party! Enjoy it with appetizers such as braised pork sliders, grilled duck sausage and mushrooms stuffed with sausage and goat cheese. This versatile red also promises to be the star of the meal served with roast chicken beurre rouge, crispy trout over bacon potato hash, salmon over herbed goat cheese polenta, truffled mushroom risotto, or Moroccan-spiced grilled lamb chops. An after dinner treat of Point Reyes Blue, San Andreas or Humboldt Fog would really accentuate the fruit flavors in this velvety red.
