The Felten family has been growing grapes for five generations in Lodi. The first four generations sold their grapes to cooperatives, but the fifth generation (Steve and Lori) realized that they could sell to prestigious wineries, then in 2000 realized their dream of making their own wine. Klinker Brick is the name of a artisianal brick that’s used in many historic Lodi buildings. The veterans amongst y’all may recall sipping this wine during a virtual tasting back in 2020 with Farrah Felten-Jolley. This is a Provençal-style Rosé, with modest ABV, salmon hue and tingling acidity. Aged in stainless steel. Strawberry, grapefruit, guava, watermelon
Food Pairing Suggestions:
Enjoy this juicy rosé with fresh fruit salads, California rolls, tapenade topped crostini, grilled cheese and Serrano ham panini, asparagus and prosciutto flatbread, grilled rosemary-accented port chops with crispy herbed potatoes, saucy barbecue ribs, spicy fried chicken, Pissaladière (a regional white pizza with onion, anchovies and black olives topping) and classic New Orleans muffulettas. Or simply savor a glass of this crisp wine with strawberry-melon sorbet and a wedge of melted Brie on garlic crostini.
