4APR12 Vinum Cellars PINOT NOIR, Arroyo Loma Vineyard, King City, Monterey, California 2021 (F, O)
4 and 6 bottle levels $23 (member price $20)
100% Pinot Noir 14.5% ABV
Richard Bruno and Chris Condos founded Vinum Cellars in 1997, sourcing fruit from family owned coastal California vineyards. The bulk of their production is contract winemaking, producing wine for some of Napa’s most prestigious labels, with NDA’s preventing them from naming names. They also make wine under their own label, with Napa Valley wines being the headliners. The fruit is from a single vineyard in King City (Salinas Valley) in southeastern Monterey County. Aged 18 months in two year old French oak barrels. Black cherry, red raspberry, black pepper, vanilla, hint of mushroom. For those of y’all choosing one Pinot Noir this month, know that this Vinum Cellars Pinot is a bigger bolder wine than Manos Negras.
