Martin and Anna Arndorfer’s namesake winery produces transparent minimal-intervention wines, as they believe in letting the grapes speak for themselves.  Vereinter Schatz is a play on words, as the Arndorfers skirt new wine laws which disallow them from calling it a Gemischter Satz.  It translates roughly to United Sweeties.  The fruit is harvested from three sites, co-fermented in neutral oak, then aged for six months in neutral oak.  The nose is very floral and spicy, hinting that the wine is sweet, but it’s a dry wine.  Apricot, lime, white flowers, fresh herbs.  GOBBLE GOBBLE

Enjoy this food friendly white with four cheese risotto, roasted cod with artichoke hash, zucchini linguine with herbs, pork tenderloin with coconut rice, herb-crusted chicken thighs with toasted farro and greens, fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits, and Austrian Wiener Schnitzel and sautéed kidneys.
