Just in time for Halloween! Skull Wines is a collaboration between longtime friends Patrick Cappiello (Monte Rio Cellars) and Pax Mahle (famed Rhone Ranger). Patrick was a somm in NYC, including TriBeCa Grill and Veritas. Pax started Pax Cellars with his wife Pamela and has a stellar reputation among the wine geeks of the world. For Skull Wine, Patrick and Pax's philosophy is to make hand-crafted wines in the spirit of old California. They work with family-owned, organically farmed vineyards and keep the winemaking simple. This sparkler is aged in a combination of stainless steel and old wood barrels after each grape is fermented separately. The Verdelho is from San Benito, the other varieties are from Lodi.
