100% Cabernet Sauvignon 14.0% ABV
“Kosher for Passover” has come to imply delicious food, but not so great wine. As the modern Israeli generation – backed by international $$ - takes over, the tide is changing. Michael Skurnik – one of my favorite importers – brings the wine into the US. The winery is in Golan Heights, north of the Sea of Galilee, and much closer to Beirut and Damascus than to Jerusalem. This is considered the best wine region in Israel, with cool high-altitude climate and volcanic soil. Aged one year in French oak barrels (mostly neutral). Blackberry, black raspberry, black pepper, dried herbs, whiff of bell pepper.
