De Stefani is a 5th generation family owned winery established in 1866 in Refrontolo (in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene). "Solèr" is a word of the Venetian dialect and means the top floor of a rural house: a loft or a barn. Historically it was used by the grape growers to dry their best grapes, since in the "solèr" there is a good ventilation, a low humidity and it is sunny. The word "solèr" comes from "sole" (sun in Italian) that contributes to dry the grapes. The Refosco and Marzemino are dried appassimento. The varietals are fermented separately in concrete, blended, aged 12 months in French barriques, then 12 months in the bottle. Black cherry, black raspberry, violet, anise. This is a smooth rich wine. 1-Liter Bottle
