This is the 25th vintage of Vinum Cellars Chenin Blanc. They started out as two young guys financing their wine dreams with maxed out credit cards, holding up “Will Work for Chenin“ signs, and have quietly built Viinum Cellars into a under-the-radar powerhouse winery that produces wine for some of Napa Valley’s most prestigious wineries. What began as a handshake deal between Vinum’s owners and farmer Ken Wilson is now a generational relationship with Ken’s nephew David. Yes, the fruit for this Chenin Blanc is from the same vineyard as November’s Petite Sirah. Aged in stainless steel. Tangerine, lime zest, honeysuckle, Rainier cherry.

This lively, well balanced white pairs perfectly with crispy crab cakes with Remoulade, oysters on the half shell, tuna and avocado tartare, flash fried calamari, Tarte Flambée, Thai chicken salad, roast turkey with a quinoa and green pea salad, herbed pork tenderloin with Almondine topped asparagus, chicken pad Thai, lobster rolls, sweet and sour pork with sticky rice, and honey-glazed chicken wings.
