Domaine de L’Ostal is part of the J-M Cazes empire.  In October, we featured Roquette & Cazes Douro Red, a collaboration from this owner of Château Lynch Bages.  In the foothills of the Montagne Noire, halfway between Carcassonne and Narbonne, Domaine de L’Ostal has 150 acres of vines and 60 acres of olive groves.  Estibals takes its name from one of the finest parcels in Minervois.  The fruit is from younger vines that aren’t old enough for the flagship blend.   Aged 12 months French oak.  This is a rich and smooth wine, with morello cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate, black olive, underbrush.  Cali drinkers would like it.
