4 and 6 bottle levels $23 (member price $20)
100% Sauvignonasse (aka Friulano) 13.5% ABV
The grape is best known as Friulano – across the border in Friuli, Italy. The Slovenians call it Sauvignonasse. It is not related to Sauvignon Blanc. Goriška Brda has a good diurnal swing because it gets warm breezes from the Adriatic, as well as cold winds from the Alps. The winery is named after the town of Krasno, located about two miles east of Italy, with steep vineyards producing excellent fruit. Krasno is a co-op, owned by 400 wine-growing families, and producing wines for 50 years. Aged in stainless steel. Lemon, green apple, pine needles, salinity. Please pour 5-10 minutes before enjoying, as it has a slight funk that quickly blows off.
