6JUL07 Sineann “Red Table Wine” RED BLEND, Oregon 2023 (F, O)
4 and 6 bottle levels $24 (member price $21)
Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot 13.8% ABV
Sineann (shuh-NAY-uhn) was founded in 1994 in the heart of Willamette Valley by Peter Rosback, who is still the winemaker. Most of their wines are single vineyard. Unlike other Willamette Valley wineries, he also sources from Columbia Valley (both the WA side and OR side), producing Bordeaux blends. Their top Pinot Noir is named TFL. (Yes, it was originally produced for The French Laundry.) There’s very little info available about this Red Table Wine. My understanding is that the fruit is sourced from both Willamette Valley and Columbia Valley. It tastes like it was aged in stainless steel. Ripe and rich red raspberry, cranberry, blueberry, potpourri.
Food Pairing Suggestions:
Serve this silky blend with grilled quail with roasted beets, ostrich medallions with sauteed mushrooms, beef carpaccio studded with fresh basil and chives, endive and watercress salad topped with brown sugar walnuts, raisins, fresh garlic croutons and sun-dried cherries, traditional Boeuf Bourguignon over creamy carrot potatoes, white pizza with mushrooms drizzled with truffle oil, zucchini and mushroom frittata, beef Wellington with mushroom wild rice, baked salmon with soy ginger sauce, and fig, caramelized onion and Fontina flatbread.
