Eric Lemelson founded his namesake winery in 1999. He’s the son of Jerome Lemelson, who held 600+ patents for robots, VCRs, magnetic tape drives, cordless phones, etc, before passing in 1997. Eric is a steward of the land, believing in sustainability and LEED certified buildings. My sister is a LEED Certified Architect; Check out Louisa’s website: vanleerarchitecture.com. This winery has been under the radar for me, but a friend recently became their National Sales Manager, and introduced me to their lineup. Aged eight months in French oak barrels (20% new). Red raspberry, black cherry, nutmeg, roasted mushrooms, composted leaves. A deep and rich attack leads to an earthy finish.
