100% Favorita 12.0% ABV
Fausto and Cinzia Cellario are 3rd generation winemakers in the village of Carrù on the western outskirts of the Langhe. The family believes in working only with indigenous Piemontese grape varieties and fiercely defends local traditions in the vineyard and the cellar. This is a single vineyard wine, near Dogliani in SW Langhe. Favorita is a local synonym for Vermentino. It was the favorite grape of a King of Piedmont, so he changed the name in Piedmont to Favorita. Aged on the lees in stainless steel for six months for complexity. The attack features candied white peach, lemon, herbs; the finish is chalky.
