Doña Paula Estate was founded in 1997, with a focus on exploring the terroir of
Ugarteche, on the southern end of Luján de Cuyo. The soil is clay and stone, with
elevation of about 3500 feet. Because of the extremely low rainfall, they depend on
snowmelt from the Andes for irrigation. The fruit from Ugarteche is known for
producing wines that are soft and rich, not big/bold/tannic. Nine months in French oak
barriques.
